About two weeks ago I had my first dining experience at Orient8 – Hotel Mulia. The menu was already arranged by the host, so I didn’t make the choices. But as it turned out, mostly was good. No complaints on taste, but perhaps a bit on portion (haha!).
The Menu. Was particularly curious about the risotto *Damn you, Hell’s Kitchen!*
Beef Carpacccio. Fresh & yummy, but still light to open the 4 course dinner
Mushroom Risotto with Parmesan Foam. I love it. Good Risottos are hard to find here in Jakarta, and this one’s goood! Texture’s just right, and the parmesan foam mixed well with the risotto. I like!
Salmon Confit. This one’s also good. Always love Salmon dishes, and this one’s no exception. Creamy yet not heavy. I also love the leek they put as the pair for the salmon. Yum yum.
AppleTart. I have to say that this is my least fave part of the dinner. Not actually loving the caramelized apple, feels gooey – and also too sour for my sweet tooth
Macarons & Chocolates. To close the dinner, they served tea/coffee along with plates of macarons & chocolates to be shared. The chocolate was so so, but the macarons were good!
By the end of the dinner, I think I know why the restaurant escribe itself as a Pan Asian & French Restaurant : because of the Pan Asian taste and the French portion ^^

Aku tertarik melihat keju tapi jadi foam, gaya makanan jaman sekarang yang diubah bentuk itu yaaa..
