First time at Bluegrass and I was thrilled. Hearing so many good reviews about this place was why I chose to have a lunch meeting there. Well, if you’re going to work over lunch, at least the food’s gotta be good, right?
The place is nice. It’s got that Loewy-ish, Union-ish feeling to it – which I’m fond of. The staff are also very nice and helpful, from the very beginning. Not too fussy about my tumbler (I carry one filled with mineral water everywhere),they just asked me politely to put it in my bag. Unlike at Loewy where everyone acted like I was bringing the water so I wouldn’t have to order drinks (total meh)
So let’s get on to the food (and drinks)
For the drink, I went for a No-Jito, inspired by people next to me ordering Mojitos ![]()
It was alright, but I’ve had better (or was it a Mojito that was better? Haha!)
And then there was my main course: The Beef Ribs with BBQ sauce (they had a choice between original/BBQ sauce, but of course I chose BBQ)
There it was.. 300grams of glorious meat – tender, juicy, and tasty all throughout. Trust me, it’s really, really good. Priced at IDR 185K, it was well worth it. Side dish was fresh watercress and sweet potato fries (default side dish is mashed potato, BTW). Watercress was okay, liked the dressing. As for the SPF, I’ve had better ones at Smoking Joe’s.
Certainly one cannot leave without desserts. Since I was already so full, decided to go for something lighter and less sweet : Granny’s Apple Pie (although if I had had more space in my tummy, I would’ve really loved to order the chocolate mousse)
The apple pie was also yummy. Big enough to share, IDR 60K was a good price. Crust was good, filling was good (more filling would be even better though
), a nice ending to a great lunch.
Bluegrass, am definitely coming back for more.
